Hello Larry,

In addition to enabling JAVA in the customize options of the security page
of the options dialog box, you might also want to check in the advanced
options page to make sure JAVA is enabled. I am not at a system to confirm,
but I am quite sure there are options in the advanced page of the options
dialog box that also need to be enabled or checked. Another place to check
is in the add-ins. Choose the manage add-ins menu choice in the tools menu,
choose the "all add-ins" option and then tab to the list of all add-ins.
Check in that list to make sure the JAVA plug-in is enabled. You should
have a button for enabling the plug-in if it is not already enabled. You
might also want to visit www.java.com to download and install the newest
update of JAVA. You can also clean out JAVA cache and uninstall earlier
versions of JAVA. If you use CCleaner then JAVA is found in the list of
items to clean under the applications page. It might not be checked. You
can check or uncheck the choice using spacebar. Earlier versions of JAVA
can be uninstalled using the control panel method, but you might want to be
careful doing that in case the web site applet requires an earlier version
to be used.

Take care.

Dan,

It remained enabled and that is what is making this such a head-scratcher
for me.

Larry,

When you rechecked your settings was java still enabled or had it reverted
to disabled?
