Hi Gerald,
It is still an optional update from Microsoft, and if a person keeps track of what is being installed to their machine
thru automatic updates, then there is no reason for it to get installed.
On my Win7 machine, it has been de-selected and hidden as an optional update. You just have to be pro-active about what is being downloaded and installed to your machine, and that is why I don't
let any program use automatic updating.

Rick Justice

You can remove Silverlite all you want, but eventually, it will be surreptitiously reinstalled on your computer. There really doesn't seem to be any way to prevent this from happening, so I have given up trying to uninstall it.

Hi Russ,
Just uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs,
that will do it.

Hi everyone,

Before I received an answer to my question about downloading/installing
Silverlight, I had done so.

I went to my control panel and found it there. Should I totally uninstall it
there?

Thanks,

Russ
