Howdy Rick;

I was just curious on how they were made. I was playing around with 7Zip &
didn't notice an option in there on making a .RAR file so when I googled how
to make a .RAR file, it was suggested in 1 of the posts' that 7Zip would do
this task but, it doesn't. What I ultimately wanted to do was to create a
.RAR file so I could type up a set of steps on how to extract the files from
.RAR files using 7Zip. Thank you for your helpful information. Take care.
Mike

  Hi Mike,
  My first question to you is, why do you want a .rar file?
  .rar extensions are created with WinRar, but can be opened with 7Zip.
  Some archiving programs will open multiple types of files, but will only
  create ones that are native to the program itself.
