[JAWS-Users] restoring desktop itums lost!

Hi can any one tell me if you can restore desk topitums lost? A friend has
lost every thing on his desk top, but the recycle bin, the child did some
thing, and now he lost books files, folders and such if some one can tell me
in a hurry that would be great we are using jaws eight and windows xp thanks
