Hi Scott;

If I'm understanding your message correctly, you don't need to have the
subject option checked to have the group messages by conversation work.
Here is how I have my view sub-menus setup to get my messages grouped &
sorted by the time received, with newest messages at the top.

1. While in Outlook Express with no messages open. Alt +V, for the view
menu.
2. Press enter on current view.
3. Press enter on group messages by conversation, to check the box & take
you out of the menus.
4. Press Alt + V, again to open the view menu.
5. Arrow down to, sort by, & press enter.
6. Arrow down the list & press enter on received. This will check the box &
take you out of the menus.
7. Alt +V, again, & press enter on, sort by.
8. Arrow down to , descending, & press enter to check the box & take you out
of the menus.

If I'm not mistaken, the group messages by conversation option,
automatically uses the subject line criteria to group the messages. It's the
other choices in the sort by submenu that dictates the way messages are
sorted / showing in your folders. If I haven't confused the hell out of you
I hope this helped! LOL Take care.
Mike

Subject: [JAWS-Users] outlook express how do I change view of Email
folders.

  Hi
My emails are reading the sender of the emails first and then the
subject thus making group by conversation unusable. How Can I change that
the Subject line is first and so I can sort by subject and I can delete
all in a particular conversation.
   Thanks
   scott
