when I had a similar problem it was my speaker settings. Maybe they
were set to surround sound and I had to set them to
stereo? something like that.

Now the other thing is for my version of Win 7 running on Bootcamp,
when I turn Narrator on it doesn't talk.
I haven't installed the OS CD drives yet but everything else seems
to work fine.
Do I need to install Bootcamp on the Windows side?
