So as to attempt to get a better understanding of such matter, you might want to look into the JAWSKey+r dialogue of types of cursor restriction settings. JAWS works so well in most programs that hardly any alterations are needed for normal oparations; at least I believe so.

Yes, I never intentionally made the change, although obviously I did make it. At least I will know what to do if it happens again. I stored your message in my Jaws tips folder because I don't want to rely on my memory for these things. ----- Original Message -----

that is only an apparent problem, because you altered the cursors in mid-quest. It is confusing, like many other things to do with JAWS settings; but the way to resolve it is to set and forget the cursors so that JAWS Cursor WILL NOT FOLOW the PC Cursor, and leave well enough alone until and unless by changing you know what you are doing. (It can happen accidentally, and is very off-putting. That's how I know about it.)

Thank you, Flor,

You solved the left mouse click problem. Here's a curious hing though. I had both IE and Firefox open. For no particular reason, I went to IE to try to pay the tax bill. I followed your suggestion, but IE threw me into Firefox. I then tried to pay the tax bilkl through FF, and it worked perfectly.

Thanks,S

You may have set the JAWS Cursor to follow the PC cursor. To change that, so that you get the default, JAWS Cursor not to follow, pres ctrl+insert+NumpadMinus twice quickly. press this again if it is not toggled the first time. .

Hi listers,

I'm using a laptop with Vista and Jaws 12, the initial release. I've recently encountered a problem that may not be a focus issue at all, but I don't know what else to call it. When I route the PC cursor to the Jaws cursor and do a left mouse click, I get tossed out of my location and put, usually, back on the desk top. So, I have no way to do the left mouse click which is a partifcular problem because I need to pay my property taxes, and the site has some controls that don't respond to regular Jaws commands. I'm guessing that I changed something to cause this, but I sure don't know what that would be.

One other piece of info is that when I'm in my windows mail inbox, the jaws and page down keys used to tell me how many messages were in the list. Now Jaws just says ind...

Any ideas?

Thank you,
Shari
