I also have this issue, at first I thought it was ghosting issues, but when I loaded NVDA, it stopped.

Hi

I have occasionally seen the same behavior with the last several releases of
JAWS 12 running IE 8. But I have seen it under Windows 7 64-bit. I don't
think that this is a problem of JAWS completely loosing focus, but rather
that the Virtual buffer where JAWS holds a web page is not being updated
when a page is downloaded or updated. I don't know a permanent solution.
But the quickest way to get around this issue is to press JAWSkey+escape to
refresh the screen and virtual buffer. That's quicker than reloading the
whole page again.

Mike

Subject: [JAWS-Users] jaws losing focus on IE

I'm running jaws12 the latest version, IE 8 and windows xp pro. and I've
noticed an issue every once in a while jaws seems to lose focus on IE. What is happening lets say I click on a link within a webpage or go to a new page
altogether, well jaws will still be on that previous page or link even
though the pc is really not. I can either refresh the page or to stop it
from doing this altogether to unload and reload jaws. Anyone know how I can
fix this for good?
Troy
