I have an old Dectalk Express that I would like to start using again, since the Dectalk Access32 synthesizer won't work under Windows 7. Unfortunately my old unit has sat in its case in a drawer for the last 5 or 6 years. So after I got it out and put it on the charger for several days, it won't do anything when I turn it on. It used to make sort of a beep and give a startup message. Also when I try to switch to it in JAWS 12, I hear a lot of quiet. I think that the battery is completely dead and won't take a charge.
