here's my list of clients that we know are useable:
* MS outlook: it's a good mail client (among other things), has a lot in it, and any version from 2003 and up will work fine in win 7. you can also buy just the outlook application for between 50 to 90 dollars average on the web. * thunderbird: this is a free independent mail client that will work, is well thought of by many, and a quick google will find it for you. I have the URL for some jaws scripts that make it work a little better if you want to try them. * Eudora: another independent mail client, this one has been around for a long time, it seems that it's no longer being supported, but the last made version works in win 7. * windows live mail: the newest and most recommended (by MS and some sighted folk) mail client. this one still has interaction troubles with jaws, and opinions run about 50/50 either they love it, or they hate it. I have some light scripts that can help with this one a little bit as well. * and a final one; , windows mail, the client that was with vista is on your computer, but was disabled and hidden away. I have a pack of information and registry fix files that can enable it for you if you feel competent with registry fixes and wish to use it.but... it has been said that it can mess up one's ability to download service packs to windows 7 so is not a "recommended client" by many!

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Email with windows 7

Hello:
Does anyone know if there is a JAWS friendly email client that will work with Windows 7? I am trying to help someone set up his Windows 7 computer, and he is insisting that he wants his email to be as easy to use as Windows Mail was with Vista. I can't find a JAWS friendly email client that works well in Windows 7. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Deanne
