Hi Trish,
It's not just you, I also have trouble distinguishing between those two
letters.
You may have to keep playing with the settings to get the best you can,
as for me, I know that it is a hearing issue.
HTH,
Rick Justice

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 12Pronounciation Issues

Well, here I am late as usual installing Jaws 12 latest, but with 13 getting
ready to hatch, figured I better get familiarized with it.

I'm liking 12 ok pretty much, there's some good structure I like better in
this version than 11 and I got to really love 11. I'm just having a tiny
issue here with they way I'm hearing certain letter's pronounced and it's to
the point that I have to tap numpad 5 for the word associated to that letter
to know which it's saying, it only seems to be happening for 2 letters, the
B & D.

When it's on the letter D and it's usually the first occurrence of a word
this is happening in, I honestly cannot tell if I'm hearing, B or D and even
tapping the numpad 5 sometimes it's still sounding like the D is B, until I
hear Delta.

I tried changing the pitch in voice settings to 25, can't tell it did
anything..

My OS is xp window's media 2005, Office 2003, if this helps.

Thanks for any suggestions..

Trish
