Have you tried rebooting? This often restores things to normal in
situations like this.

Hello everyone,
I was trying to put jaws to sleep while using total recorder. I did
something wrong, and now jaws is asleep when I am on the jaws application.
In other words, when I click on jaws, I hear nothing. Is there anything I
can do without the help of a sighted person. I tried using narrator, but
didn't have any luck.
