The insert space bar and the letter s works well as a toggle.

Good deal that Jaws is back. Sometimes it is just so frustrating. When
in doubt I reboot. Glad you got it resolved. I never used the sleep
command.

I did the third thing you suggested. I uninstalled and installed again.
Everything is a okay. Will never mess with that part of jaws.
I was trying to silence jaws while using total recorder, but, I'll have
to find another way.

note 1, if you go slow and think it through you should be able to get it
fixed with narrator, next note, someone with knowledge of tandem should
be able to fix you up.

the third option is to run your setup disk again and remove the user
files, yes this means setting things up again and reinstalling any
scripts you added, but it if you remove and reinstall jaws, this should
start you with a Fresh un-silenced version

I did that, but it didn't help. What a mess!

Have you tried rebooting? This often restores things to normal in

Hello everyone,
I was trying to put jaws to sleep while using total recorder. I did
something wrong, and now jaws is asleep when I am on the jaws
application. In other words, when I click on jaws, I hear nothing.
Is there anything I can do without the help of a sighted person. I
tried using narrator, but didn't have any luck.
