And yet, for more ways of doing the same thing, sort of. You can modify the way Windows Explorer opens, directly, so that the hot key opens even a specific directory in a drive. I have one particular directory where I stash everything before moving it to permenant homes. So I have Windows explorer open directly to that location. Just edit the properties for Windows Explorer and set the start options to:

%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n, /e, c:\downloads

Or whatever path you wish. Now when you hit your hot key for Windows Explorer, it automatically opens to that directory.

It does not change the behavior of Windows E which always brings up explorer.
