In Excel 2007, is there a setting to be changed in order to read
'insert function'. As I tab through the dialog JAWS 13 says 'insert
function', and nothing more. If I press insert-up arrow it will read
each field, but if I just tab JAWS keeps repeating 'insert function'.
A clue how to fix this???
thanks,
Ann
Hello.
Using Win7 home premium. First you can't change the services
settings in any Win7 version below home premium.
Second, I did go to a few sites as mentioned below, used that plus a
paid PC services professional to maximize the crap services you can
disable without it being noticeable to you other than better
performance. I believe my list is the most aggressive yet without
being over the top aggressive such that your PC perf /Wifi etc is
affected. If someone wants that list pl ping me directly at

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] msconfig and the services tab
You should do a google search for windows, your OS, services "turn off"
You will get a number of web sites with explanations of every service,
what it does, and weather or not it is a good idea to turn it off.
I have an old PC, very little RAM, very old and slow CPU. But, by
ruthlessly turning off every service I didn't need, like print spoolers
and such, removing every possible program from startup, stripping out
every possible item from the Windows config, all keeping security in mind,
I was able to run that box for years beyond what all the recommended
parameters said I could run. IE, I was able to run later versions of JAWS
and Internet Explorer, even though there was only 384 meg of ram on the
box.
You do need to be very careful about what services and programs you shut
down though. Some of them are important to the proper functioning of the
system, or even for the security of your system.
