Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] follow up to deleting a folder

I did it! Finally! It only took me almost seven hours lol!
I have no reason why I couldn't do what anyone else suggested and to have it
work so I had to download something called unlocker.
I managed to remove this dam folder from 2 out of the 3 destinations but I
will remove the other one tomorrow I am tired! If anyone cares to know about
unlocker here is the info I got...

Ever had such an annoying message given by Windows: Cannot delete file:
Access is denied. There has been a sharing violation. The source or
destination file may be in use or the file is in use by another program or
user. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is
not currently in use. Unlocker is the solution. Unlocker is an Explorer
extension that allows you with a simple right-click of the mouse on a file
or folder to get rid of error message such as error deleting file or folder,
cannot delete folder: it is used by another person or program.
I still don't know why I had to go that far...

Kimsan,

This is a rough description. In your My Documents folder, in the Tree View,
find the highest-level folder you would like to delete. Now press
right-arrow. Now tab over to the list view, and look at what you've got.
Select and delete, as appropriate. There may be some files that won't
delete, so maybe here's a chance to find out their names. You may have made
some read-only. if so, you'll have to make them read-only not checked, a
checkbox in the alt-enter general or the other tab control property sheet.
Hopefully, by the end there will be nothing in the folder you right-arrowed
into. Then you can shift+tab and left-arrow, and delete it.

Another alternative? Cut the whole thing to the clipboard. leave it there,
and reboot.

Another alternative, find something like ReVo Uninstaller, or some other
professional file deletion utility.

RJ:
I failed to mention in my original email that the folder I have is in
my
documents folder. I tried deleting the sub folders first and when I
hit
delete or shift delete, it says preparing to delete cancel button and
it has
been 15 minutes and it still says that.

Do the tree things and delete all the info in the last folder first
and than
the folder, if it won't let you delete the master folder. For many
times the
folder can't be deleted before it is emptied of files and sub folders.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] deleting a folder

Hi,

I'm gunna ask this here cuzz I am not getting answers from google or
any other list.

I have a folder that has folders within the folder and I am wanting
to
remove the entire thing.

However, when I press delete it says recycling dialog cancel button
and when routing jaws to PC and read current line it says discovering
items.

I have waited at least twenty minutes to see if this folder will
delete but it doesn't. Why does it say recycling dialog and
discovering items. WDoes anyone have the slightest idea why this
folder isn't deleting? Its just a random folder I created with a
bunch
of notes in them.

Thank you.
