Leonard, I'm a little behind on my messages but, decided to get through them all today when I saw your message. As it happens, I set up my Gmail account in WLM today and remember reading something in the help section about your issue. I'm not sure if it will help you but, I sure hope it does. If not, try checking a little more out in the help section of your mail settings under the imap/pop section. I copied what I read and it is pasted for you below. Hope it helps.
CN security certificate error Symptom: When trying to access Gmail via IMAP, you encounter the error, 'The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could not be verified. The certificate's CN name does not match the passed value. Do you want to continue using this server?' Explanation: Make sure you've set up your mail client for IMAP1 access rather than POP2 access. In addition, please verify that you have entered 'imap.Gmail.com' rather than 'pop.Gmail.com' as your Incoming Server setting. This is all it said.
