Hi Rose,

I always keep that setting in simple layout mode. I tried it in
presentation mode & it didn't make a difference, for this separation thing
anyway. Thanks again, take care.
Mike

If you open the quick settings, type in presentation or just part of the
word, you should be able to table to see if you are in simple layout or
not.
This is most useful on web pages.

  Hi Rose,

Thank you very much for your reply. I don't know how sighted people see
tables so, which option would be used? I have tried different settings
with
tables, with no luck! Please suggest some Tables settings. It would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks much, take care, & have a very happy New
Year.
  Mike

Have you reset your presentation to read tables like the sighted see
  them,?

    Mike,

You've got my interest with this separator thing. I haven't seen it
  myself,
than I can think of, and hitting a page or two, I haven't come across
it.
Can you give me an example of a page, and where on the page, I can find
an
occurrence of JAWS saying separator? I can see if it happens for me,
and
maybe track down where it is coming from.

    Thanks.
