If I understand your question correctly you can go to the desktop and highlight the version of Jaws you want to set a hot key for. Once it is highlighted press the application key and then select properties from the menu. Tab until you hear "short cut Key". It has a field where you can confirm whether you have the right short cut and if not you can type it in.

Press alt-s to save. Then you can press control-j to look at the download.

Or, if you would rather, instead of pressing enter on the link to download
it, use the applications key to get to save-target-as and press enter.  The
dialog there looks a whole lot like i.e.8.
