Hello Miriam;
Well, another way you can create new folder is;

1, navigate to your my documents folder,
And press enter.

2, once your documents folder opens you hear;
Not selected

3, use the keystroke,
Ctrl+shift+n=new folder,
Your placed into a edit field,
So type the name of the folder and then press enter.

Hope this helps.

David,

Thank you for this. I wish I'd seen your message before I started playing
around with trying to make a new folder, but I did figure it out.

Miriam

Hello there;

Try the following;

While in my documents,
Alt+f,
Arrow down once to new sub menu,
Right arrow to open, now you'll see folder, Press enter and now type in the
name which you wish to have for the new folder.
And enter again.

Note, if your in my documents,
And there's a highlighted file icon,
When you press the alt+f,
And arrow down, you won't see new sub menu, If this happens, Press
ctrl+spacebar to unselect,

Hope this helps.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] New folder in my documents, windows 7

If I try to create a new folder in My Documents in Windows 7, I get a
document with an nt extension and jaws says journal. That is different from
the folders I created in My Documents previously on my XP computer and that
were transferred to this new one. They just have the names I gave them. Is
there something different about creating new folders in My Documents in
Win7?

Miriam
