I am hoping someone else jumps in here. I was just putting out my thought
as a possibility. I know that remote administration of Windows servers is
certainly possible. I know that you can install JFW on a Windows server.
So I assume that you could remotely administer a Windows server if you
have JFW on both the server and the machine that you are connecting from.
Unfortunately, all of my remote administration work is done in the UNIX
environment, not Windows, so I don't have much more to offer for help.
But I'll ask around.
