Hi Mike,
when using internet explorer 9 on windows 7 there are one or two ways of
getting info on the open tabs.
The first is to go to the tab names on the toolbar of internet explorer.
1. press alt+d to move to the address bar. (or press f6 till you get there)
2. tab twice to the current tab name. You can then move between the tab names,
and the new tab item using left and right arrows, and home and end.
3. To return to the web page, press ctrl+f6, or f6 one or more times.

Then second way is to use the taskbar button for internet explorer on the
taskbar.
It will probably be pinned there already, and it's most convenient if it is,
because then it's always in the same position. In fact there are a couple of
ways of using the internet explorer taskbar button. the first:
1. press windows key plus t until you get the internet explorer taskbar button.
the name to the button is the title of the window.
2. press spacebar. If there's a single tab open, the focus in moved back to the
internet explorer window. If there's more than one tab open, then the focus is
moved to the first item in a task switcher list box. This contains the titles
of all the tabs, and you can cycle round them using tab or down arrow. Note
that when Jaws reads a position in this list, it thinks there are three times
as many items as there are.

The second way of using the taskbar button, is to use the windows key + number
keystroke, where number is the position of the button on the taskbar. For
example, if internet explorer is the second button.
If you hold down the windows key and then press the 2 key a number of times:
1. If there's one tab open, the focus switches to the previous window, and then
back to internet explorer, etc.
2. If there's more than one tab open, then focus cycles round the items in the
task switcher list box, which are the titles of the tabs.

original message:
Hi

Well I got a big surprise this morning when I tried to download a file in
internet explorer.  It didn't act the same as usual.  Upon opening the help
menu and choosing About, I found that I am running IE9 on my Windows 7 64
bit system with  JAWS 13.0.718.  I don't recall doing anything to cause IE9
to be installed, but Windows update says it was installed on 2/28/12.  Sort
of looks like it was an automatic update.  But once I realized this and with
all the good information that comes from this list, I accomplished the
download with no problem.

But to my question.  Often when I press alt-f4 to close internet explorer
I'll get a message asking me if I want to close all tabs when I'm not aware
that I have multiple tabs open.  In IE8, there is a keystroke,
control+shift+q,
Which will list all open tabs if multiple tabs are open.  But this keystroke
doesn't do anything in IE9.  So is there an IE or JAWS keystroke that
provides information on open tabs?

Thanks.

Mike
