Where is the 'programs page' referred to multiple times in the instructions below? Prateek -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Trish Sent: Thursday, March 08, 2012 3:28 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws on a Flash Drive I didn't read my jaws bible first, so never mind y'all. Thanks David again! The following are instructions for installing the video intercept manager for JAWS from a portable device. First download and install the portable version of JAWS from either Freedom Scientific or from the link provided on the programs page on a thumb drive or to a directory on your local computer. Then download the Zip file for installing the video intercept manager using the link provided on the programs page. After that copy the files in to the same directory where you put the portable version of JAWS. You will receive a prompt asking if you wish to overwrite the autorun.inf, hit yes. If you're going to run JAWS from a CD instead of some other kind of removable media, please make sure to put all of your settings the way you like before burning the disk. Select all of the files, and using your program of choice burn them to a CD or simply copy them to a thumb drive. Next take it to an XP or Windows 2000 computer. If you selected a CD it should auto run and Narrator will come up talking. If you selected a thumb drive then a Window will pop up, at that point just hit enter. Navigate to the CD or thumb drive using Windows Explorer and hit enter on the JAWS70.bat file. A box will pop up stating that the video intercept manager isn't installed on that particular system. Simply tab over to the details button and hit the space bar. Don't worry because Narrator will speak sufficiently to accomplish this task. Install the video intercept like you would normally do. When Narrator tells you to reboot the system, tab over to the exit button to close out the video intercept manager. Next bring Narrator back in to focus and then tab over to the exit button to shut down narrator. The system will automatically reboot at this point. Pull out the CD or thumb drive while the system is rebooting. After it's back up and running, simply put the CD or thumb drive back in. JAWS will come up talking very shortly in 40 minute mode. Remember if it's not your computer, it would be prudent to remove the video intercept manager once you're finished with what ever it is you needed to do on the system. Note: you will need to have administrator rights to do this, and it will only work on either XP or 2000. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Trish" <[email protected]> To: "users jaws list" <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, March 08, 2012 5:19 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Jaws on a Flash Drive Hello, I need to know somthin'.
