Ever think it might be the cd, or dirty cd device?

one of my audio cds would not copy.
so had to open up four folders, for my folder called MYMusic inside
my Music folder.
then open my dvd which has the audio cd.
then Albums, then singles.
a lot of chrashes, and it just locks up the whole system, windows 7

and says the folder is not responding.
and if i try to kill it in task manager, it takes about four goes,
or i just have to do a hard reboot.
i do not have a credit card or pay pal.

avg makes pc tune up, but no free version.
so that is out.
it is taking me forever.
as when i tried to copy the whole folder.
it hangs forever, and then get the error message that one of the files.
so, having to arrow through one file at a time, over 100 files.
hear the name, tab to the singles, albums,, singles, and my music folder.
and has crashed four times.
saying, windows folder not responding.
just getting frustrated.
can any one help?
