Ann,
Thanks for those tips. However my problem is that alt+h,o does not work for
some reason in Excel 2007. It used to until today but for some reason it
stopped working. when I hit alt+h,o I hear the "ding" sound and find myself
on the ribbon menu. I don't have the virtual ribbon checked. Could I have
done something in the quick settings feature that caused the shortcut keys
to stop working?

Ryan,
Thanks. That helped. However, there was an option in the full format menu
where you could automatically adjust column width to the contents of a
column. that?s what I?m really looking for.

Hello,
JFW 13 latest, Win7 and GoldWave 5.65.
Pl note I've no intention to upgrade to a more recent GW version as I've
heard mixed feedback about accessibility of those more recent versions.
Next, the only JFW scripts for 5.65 and above that I've found are Goldwave
scripts version 1.61 by Jim Grimsby Jr. for Goldwave versions 5.65 and
higher. But my problem with these scripts are that even if I put all the
many many files included in the zip download at the correct ENU folder, they
seem to do noting nor do I find any instructions file telling me the key
strokes attached to this set of GW scripts.
An older version of some GW scripts for GW 5.58 used to implement alt shift
T and alt shift E for checking total and elapsed times respectively. Hitting
the same key strokes with GW 5.65 doesn't do that at all instead opens up
some menu items.
So going back to my main Q: how do I find keystrokes for JFW to announce the
total time as well as elapsed time of play of any audio mp3 file in GW?check

Hi Melissa,
Those settings are not necessarily correct in all cases.
I have A T&T U-Verse service, and here are my settings for Outlook Express:
My incoming mail server is a POP3 server.
Incoming mail (POP3): pop.att.yahoo.com
Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.att.yahoo.com
My server requires authentication checkbox checked.
Server Port Numbers
Outgoing mail (SMTP): 465
This server requires a secure connection (SSL) checkbox checked
Incoming mail (POP3): 995
This server requires a secure connection (SSL) checkbox checked
Also, if the customer is using an e-mail address other than one issued by A
T&T,
it will have to be verified with them before mail can be sent using that
address.
HTH,
Rick Justice

It wouldn't matter what email client you use as long as you have the
incoming pop settings and out going smtp settings, the log in pass for
the account, and have use authentication check. The change to 587 was a
port change not speed.
Even OE can do any account out there. but if you just have one setting not
right. You will get problems. For your problem I would check if
authentication is checked under server tab in properties for that account.

Hello:
I used Uverse for about three days. I was never able to use OE or Windows
mail with it. They do not support third party applications with Uverse.
The reason for not supporting these programs was that their people were not
trained to work with them. I could have paid over $100 for technical
support. Needless to say, I went back with Comcast. No good news.

I have XP home and 13.
Yesterday, I had Uverse, through AT&T, installed. They gave a new modem
and router.
Since then, I am unable to send messages through O E.
I receive messages okay, and everything else with the computer seems to
work well.
When I am on the internet, and access my e mail, I am able to send
messages that way.
After talking to tech support at Uverse, I was told that my O E needs to
be configured to work with Uverse.
I?ve gone through the settings in O E for accounts/properties/etc.
The only change that seemed major was increasing the speed in the ?port?
section for outgoing messages to 587.
I also have a second computer that is working on wifi, and I now have the
same, ?send? issue.
Are there any other settings I need to change?
Or, does anyone have suggestions on how to configure O E with Uverse?
On the same topic, if I were to change to Outlook, what should I be aware
of? Is it an easy upgrade and would it work better with future computer
changes?
What would I need to do to transition from O E to Outlook?
And, would this be a good thing to do since, O E seems to be less
compatible with upcoming technology?
Thanks!

Your service provider can give you the correct
pop and smtp that they use for your service. That way there is no guessing.
