Recently, I have had an upgrade to my systems at my place of employment. For the longest time, we used JAWS 7 because it worked the best with our proprietary systems. Now after the upgrade, it has become necessary to use JAWS 11. JAWS 11 is the highest that our license allows us to utilize at this time. I am also using a focus 80 Braille display. My question is this. Since upgrading to 11, I am noticing that every time I go in to an application such as email or the application needed to update a customer's address and phone number there is unnecessary information all the way to the left hand side of my display. For instance while in E-mail the left side of the display will show the word "inbox." I'd like to get rid of this information. It takes up room on the display, and for the work I do it is not needed. I have tried turning off Flash messages completely, and have changed many of the verbosity settings with no success. Any suggestions to fix this problem would be appreciated. Also JAWS 11 tends to speak a lot of unnecessary information as well. Each time I move from screen to screen JAWS will say "secure connection." Is there a way to turn some of this chatter off?
