FYI...

The same "Reading Pane" is available in the Advanced Category and offers the
check-boxes which can be "Unchecked" to allow you to make something read
only when it is opened...

Subject: RE: [JAWS-Users] Changing "Read" and "Unread" status on Outlook
2007 with Enter, not arrowing

Siew,

I am using MS Outlook 2010 but understand 2007 and 2010 are close. In the
File Menu, I have found a setting that may work. I have picked Options. The
Options opens with General and I then move to mail, the first arrow to the
right. Now you have to tab until you find "Reading Pane", again this is what
I find in MS Outlook 2010. Hitting enter, you find options of "Mark items as
read when viewing in the Reading Pane, Mark items as read when selection
changes and Read with single key of space bar. To have my mail only show of
being read when I open the message, I have unchecked each of these items and
then hit the "Okay" button for the Read Pane and then also hit the Okay for
the Mail Category.
I hope this is close to what you find in Outlook 2007..

Vinny

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Changing "Read" and "Unread" status on Outlook 2007
with Enter, not arrowing

Hi

When arrowing up and down my emails on Outlook 2007, the status will be
changed from "Unread" to "Read". Are there any settings I can change so that
the status will be changed only when I open up the mail to read?

I'm using a 64-bit Windows 7 running JAWS 13. I'm getting my mails through
IMAP and it's Outlook 2007.

Thank you for any help.

Best Regards
Siew Ling
