I am using an XPS system with Windows 7 64 bit. I had lots of trouble getting Jaws to respond well and it moved very slowly and lost focus a lot, and this is an 8 gig memory machine. The machine itself moves fast otherwise but I wonder why Jaws is sluggish, and know others have mentioned their graphics or video card--and I hope graphics and video card mean the same thing. Now today it seems to not be doing too bad, but I notice it does that little stutter thing occasionally and sometimes it doesn't keep up with me while I'm going through a list. It reminds me of the response it gave me on my E machine, but that I chalked up to very little memory. With all other applications I do on the computer moving fast, I'm wondering about these little Jaws glitches and don't know if there's a video intercept type setting in Jaws that may make it more responsive and less likely to do the little stutter thing? Or is this all related to my own video card and does F.S. recommend only certain brands or types of these cards?
Also, I know that with Windows 7 there aren't any solid recommendations from F.S. regarding display, but do you find certain text displays and screen resolutions more helpful as far as Jaws focus? I have found the info on my card. It is: AMD Radeon HD 7570 1GB DDR5 I am using Jaws versions 12 and 13 interchangeably. Thanks for your input.
