the version of JAWS is important in answering this question. We assume
you're using version 13. It's the 'synthesizer language' facility you
want to disable, not the JAWS language. bring up the Settings Center
with JAWSKey+6, then the Default Settings Center with Control+Shift+D.
In the edit field, type language. You may get 3 search results. the
first or one of them will be "detect languages, checked" (Text
processing General). Press F6, and then when it's highlighted, Press
spacebar to check it. Tab to and OK your change.

Hi all,
Many thanks for the help about the jaws problem I was having. Now, I
am having a very bizarre problem with wikipedia. When I go to the
wikipedia website and type something for example, Eddy Arnold, when I
hit enter on it, jaws for some reason does not bring up his biography.
Instead, it says, Eddy Arnold? with a question mark, and all of a
sudden it starts reading in other languages. I don't know how to
change my language settings so that jaws would stop talking in
languages like Spanish, etc. Does anyone here know how I can resolve
this problem? I tried to go into the language submenu, but it says,
unavailable. I don't know how to fix this issue. Thanks a bunch!
