Hi Rich.
I am using Jaws 13.0.1006, with Word 2010, and when typing the "-" and
reading word by word, it is been read ok both by Eloquence and Realspeak
solo direct syntheziser's, but reading line by line, only the eloquence
syntheziser read's the "-" not the Realspeak solo direct syntheziser.
Regarding what you are using, and which settings you have made in jaws,
there can be some adjustment to make.
I have set my jaws to run as trained, and only reading some of the special
character's.
Hope this can give you adwise for what to do, so you can get read the
information you need from your document's.
