I am not sure what is going on but I have had the same problem and I am
using the latest build of jaws and a windows 7 machine. For me it can
happen on any web page using internet explorer, so in my estimation it is
some problem with our IE not being compatible with jaws. I am using IE 9
how about you?

I just had this problem once again today again just now. I went to amazon,
searched for an artist, jaws muted for 1 minute. This is really beginning to
get frustrating. It said internet explorer was closed, again.
