Yes, in Windows 7, you can map a file server to a network drive letter. Select "Map..." from the Tools menu of Windows Explorer. Then Tab to the "Connect to a Web Server and store documents and pictures" link, and follow the prompts in the wizard. This can be very convenient, since it can always be available if you check the "Reconnect at login". However the performance is very slow.
Filezilla works well as long as you place the remote and local folders panes to the proper locations and use the applications key. For instance, select a folder or files in the local folder pane and press the applications key.
