Adam,

There should be a "Function" key on your keyboard. When using this key in
combination with the other keys on the keyboard, you achieve different
things. I've always had to get sighted help to figure out which keys can be
used with the function key. There is usually a color code that lets you
know which keys work with the function key. When you hold down the function
key and press another key that works with it you get that key command. On
some computers there is a way to "lock" the function key. The function key
is also how you access the "embedded" numpad from your keyboard if you do
not have a dedicated numpad.

hTH,
Annette

Subject: [JAWS-Users] dell desktop keyboards with no num lock key?

Hi all,

I have just purchased a new dell desktop.

It comes with a keyboard that has no dedicated numlock key.

I have numlock set to off in jaws.

Even so the numpad still stays as numbers.

Does this mean I have to use another keyboard?
