Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] SayAllOnDocumentLoad issue starting with JAWS 13

turn off jaws auto reading

While on the internet

1 Press insert+V.

2 Go to General options.

3 Arrow down one time to document read automatically.

4 Press the space bar to turn it off.

5 If you tab over one time you will hear the following helpful message.
When this option is turned on, JAWS performs a Say All and automatically
begins reading the Web page that is open in your browser as usual.
This mode is convenient when surfing the Web with Internet Explorer or
Firefox; however, there are many times when a user would prefer that JAWS
just loads the page and reports the number of links and headings, but avoids
starting a say all. This could be very useful to disable if you are working
on pages with forms or using JAWS in conjunction with MAGic.
The default setting for this option is on.
I hope this helps

Hi,

I don’t like JAWS to read automatically the web page after its loading.

I searched for an option to disable this feature, but I didn’t find anything in Settings Center.

I found in Shared Settings, in the folder PersonalizedSettings the file virtual.JSI where there is the line:

SayAllOnDocumentLoad=1

I changed that 1 into 0 to be false, to disable say all on load.

It worked until JAWS 12, but starting with JAWS 13 it doesn’t.

I hoped to find that in JAWS 14 it works, but it is the same.

There is another option for this?

Is this a bug?

Sometimes after I press enter on a link in Internet Explorer I go away from my computer and I must come back to press control because JAWS starts to read continuously after the page is loaded.

       Thanks,
