Is it crashing just when you start the program? Giving an error or just not responding? Have you tried it with nvda to be sure you know what is causing the problem, be it the screen reader or itunes itself?
It is working fine here on a similar system, although it does take it about 15 seconds to get its act together and it no longer auto starts when I plug in my iphone. I may have turned that feature off myself, who knows.
