That depends, really. Sometimes, if the bugs troubling you are serious,
then the only way you might get rid of them is to completely remove the
version of JAWS and (after downloading) then cleanly reinstall it from
the Web. (I had that sort of trouble once, with manual Forms Mode not
being saved.) Sometimes stuff gets introduced or left over because of
betas and such that one was updating from.

I used the update patch as you call it, which is in reality the same
installer you get when going to the web page and downloading on a
Windows 7
64-bit computer and have never had issues with doing it that way.
Either
way you do it all the same stuff gets installed as I understand it.
Using
the updater is easier, faster than going out to search for the update,
or
even going to direct download links in my humble opinion, once the
install
starts it all works out to the same program. In my opinion, there is
little
to no difference in the way you get the update and I am grateful to be
notified of updates to be able to set it to install and walk away for
a few
minutes until it is time to restart the computer anyway.

If you install it via the full installer you should be ok. I believe
it's
