I have done that many times, examples may be found on the scripts page.

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] How to reassign the print screen key on laptop to
act like the applications key

I wonder if you even need a separate program to do that. Many years ago I
wrote a jfw script that entered a couple of keys when one was pressed.
I wonder if you couldn't write a jfw script that entered shift-f10 when
print screen was pressed? This would be a bit of a cludge, but it may be
the best alternative. If anyone has ever written a jfw script to enter
keystrokes, I'd like to have a copy, I've long since forgot how I did it.

space bar: alt, print screen, ctrl. Every laptop I've used before my
ThinkPad T430 had the keys to the right of the spacebar going-> alt,
applications, ctrol. The application key there brings context menus. My
T430 does not have the application key anywhere on the kbd and instead has
the print screen key there. Being blind I'm totally dependent upon the kbd
and can't use the mouse with my visual aid software.

applications key. I have found that shift F10 works like the application
key but I would like the print screen key described above to work as the
applications key.

key functions which suggests to me that they can only assign the function of
another pre-existing key on the kbd to my key of interest. Note I say above
that my kbd does not have any key at all that is the applications key, just
the shift F10 command that does it.
