Donnie,
You have to hit the r separately from the insert-space combination. This is
what is referred to as a dual-layered keystroke.
So the sequence is insert-space then after you let that key chord up, press
the letter r.

I am trying that and all I am getting is the following message:
You must turn on either the JAWS or invisible curser before you can set
restrictions.
No matter how many times I try it, I still get that same message.

ResearchIt in JAWS 14 is still invoked with JAWS key plus spacebar then
the
letter R.

I can't seem to get the ResearchIt function in JAWS 14 to work. Does
JAWS
14 still have it? If so, what is the key combo?
