1.  simply reboot the computer.
2. If you don't want to reboot the computer, hit shift-ctrl-esc, go into tasks, find explorer and end it. Next hit file/new task type explorer and hit enter. There is a kb article from microsoft with a patch for explorer crashes, it seems to have helped me.
