I have found that not all things make sense or work the way we expect them, call it good is what I would do. Thanks for letting the list know it is fixed so to speak.

OK, really strange, don't ask me why or how it worked. I went to volume control, and under adjust properties, I went to the volume tab. When I moved the left volume from 100% to 80% JAWS blasted into my headphones very very loud. When I moved it back to 100% JAWS got quiet again. Then I went to the right volume control, and when I moved from 100% to 80% JAWS got very quiet. OK, no, I didn't get those numbers backwards. Left channel moving the volume down makes JAWS louder, right channel, moving the volume down makes JAWS quieter. Don't ask me, I'm just glad I can hear JAWS again without leaping out of my skin any time there is a system event. -- Blue skies.
