Hi Scott,
Try including the Fn key in your commands, for example:
Fn + Insert + F11 for the System Tray.
I ran into this on a Gateway laptop,but don't remember off-hand
what needed to be changed with the keyboard to eliminate this behavior,
or, if it could be changed.
HTH,

Subject: [JAWS-Users] keyboard on new laptop

Hi Everyone,

I just got a new HP Envy laptop running Windows 8. I am using the latest
build of JAWS 14. The function keys on the laptop have lost their mind. I
cannot use the JAWS key with any of the function keys to get the expected
function. For example, caps lock plus F12 does not give me the time. If I
press F1, without holding down anything, JAWS says Windows F1 and it acts as
though I were holding down the Windows key even though I am not. If I press
F2 or F3, it says "MK wheel click". If I press F4, it says "Windows P".
This problem only effects the function keys (F1 through F12). If I use a
external USB keyboard, everything works normally. So, is there a software
issue here or is the keyboard on my new laptop defective?

Thanks,

Scott Duck
