Hi Rick, I must confess I hadn't checked out the Tips and Tricks page but 
when I did, I got very excited to see a link to a page that shows one how to 
manually calculate suare roots.
Now, I'm going back to the Tips and Tricks page to see if I can't find the 
answer to the query I posed to the list regarding Excel 2007.
Thanks for the suggestion.
