IE 10 was only released a few weeks ago. It now may be included on new PC's.

This was an ordinary, garden variety geek shop, not one specializing in accessible technology, though they were certainly aware of my peculiar needs and took them into consideration. I haven't done research; but I gather that both WIN7 and IE9, unlike XP, will be around awhile.
