You should be able to locate something regarding network
connections in windows 8 as in windows 7. Since I don't use windows 8
myself the name network connections in control panel might be titled
differently. However,
you should see which wireless networks are in rrange In that list you might see
networks that may be secured or may be open. Of course if they are secured you
would need to get the password for that network. If not secured you can then
just click on it and you will be connected. A good thing about the secured
networks that you obtain the password for is that you only have to type it
once. The next time you need to visit that wireless network you can just enter
on it. .
