Sorry, I stand corrected.

Hello,

I have a surface Pro and run JAWS on it just fine. I use the Touch Cover
keyboard. Be aware that this keyboard does not have dedicated function
keys. You have to hold down the FN key to get the function key actions.
The FN key is the second key to the right of the space bar. The Touch
keyboard has some keys for common Win8 functions also.

You can find a list of the function assignments in this list.
http://www.microsoft.com/Surface/en-US/support/hardware-and-drivers/touch-co
ver-typing

For example, the key in the location of F1 by itself is mute. With the FN
key it is F1.

I haven't used it, but I should think so. It is Win 8 pro you are using on
it. Think of it this way. It's a actual computer in a tablit. So, if ypu've
used a PC with Win 8, then you know how it would work. Note get the type
cover. This is the one that has a keyboard with actuall keys on it. The
touch one has key shapes on it. I've heard the JAWS 15 roomer too. We'll
have to weight and see. But from what I understand from the access talk
podcast, this is what people were posting was being shown at CSUN. They
weren't sure since none of them went to the presentation, but that's what
they raid. We'll see though. I've heard it is true from some friends but the thing is that it's kind of hard for them to figure out since they can't buy
some of the touch tech they needed from Apple. Selfish apple, some one
should get the whip. But any ways, yeah I guesss it's kind of true, but
we'll just have to see how well it works since Apple won't share. They have to figure it out from scratch because of their selfishness. I mean, come on man, we're talking about helping blind people here. Some one has to get the
whip like I said before.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] JFW and Windows Surface Pro

Hi, I was interested in if anyone had heard or used the windows surface pro with JFW? If so does JFW run ok on it? I know touch would not work but using
the keyboard would be enough for me! I understand that the windows surface
pro will run any desktop application/program that would run on a regular W8
computer. I understand you have to live in the desktop part of the windows
surface pro for desktop application to work. So this makes me think that JFW would work just fine on the windows surface pro with using the keyboard with it. I also hear rumors that JFW15 might have touch built into it? I think
I would really like to have a windows surface pro but it would help if I
knew for sure JFW would work on it. Thanks for any input! Now I know it will
not work on the windows surface RT and not talking about that one!
