I don't know if this will help, since I think it is only occurring in OE.
I've seen other computers where control-a wouldn't work and it was linked to
the folder view settings.
check under Tools / Folder options / View tab for options on selecting
files/folders. Try resetting them to defaults.

Hi all,
First of all, thanks for all of the tips on my issue in O E and not being
able to copy a message after I updated the JAWS 14.
I have found that, if I am in a message and hit control A to select then
Control C, or even arrow down in the menu bar to copy, I am not able to do
this.
However, if, instead of hitting the Control A, I arrow in the menu/edit
area and click on "select all" I am then able to arrow in the same
menu/edit to copy on to the clipboard.
I have uninstalled 14 and then reinstalled from the web site.
