Hola Again,

http://www.marthas-web.com/windows-7/import-oe-to-wlm.htm

Importing Contacts and Messages to Windows Live Mail 2012 from Outlook
Express

Before you can import any email messages or contacts from Outlook Express,
you must have an accessible backup of your OE. Copy the backup to a
location

easy to find (probably the Desktop) The backups include all of the .dbx
files (folders with messages.) and the .wab file (your contacts).

Windows Live Mail 2012 is part of

Microsoft Essentials.

Once you decide to try Windows Live Mail 2012, you download and then uncheck
any of the offered programs before installing anything.

After you get WLM 2012 installed and your email setup, now you need to
import your Contacts (Address Book) and all those old messages you just have
to keep.

But it doesn't look so easy. (What the heck is all that stuff at the top?

Ribbons?)

Where is the Import? (It used to be in File, but where is File?)

To import your Address Book, look for the Contacts folder. It's way down on
the lower left side of your screen.

contacts

Open the Contacts by clicking on it and then click 'Import' on the

Contact Ribbon.

You will get about four choices, select 'Windows Address Book (WAB). You
may need to tell WML 2012 where the file is located, but when I tested the
import

it found the .wab file without any help from me.

Next you can import your messages from the OE Backup.

Now WLM 2012 will ask you for the location, point to the location by
clicking the Browse button, go to the backup folder, select the Outlook
Express Store

folder and watch WLM 2012 import all of your OE messages.

Once imported, the messages will be located in an Imported folder located in
Storage folders. If you do not see them, click

View

on the Ribbon and look for Storage folders and click it.

For Windows 8

  HTH

Take care.
Mike

Has anyone been successful in doing this, and how?
So far, I have found no option for importing contacts, only messages.
Using Jaws 14 on a Windows 8 laptop, with Windows Live Mail 2012.
Thanks,
Rick Justice
