let me clearify here, this fixed the jaws key J issue, also put jaws back in
system's tray.
So, thanks for troubleshooting it with me. I think I know what could have
contributed to this problem, but do not know why jaws got out of sync
though..
I was updating my old ID mate which uses an old CF reader to get these
updates installed, that all went without a hitch, Jaws did his thing no
problem there, so that's really the only new thing been done round here on
this laptop, and besides..that is an external device that card goes into,
but maybe somewhere the drives for it gunked up the ssystem, who knows.

yes, I've done this several times, then reboot, but it's not there.
I just tried going into jaws from start menu, I can get to jaws settings
through the jaws key/f2, but what I need it the basic stuff, which I have
always went through using jaws key/J. Even through start menu on jaws
arrowing down to jaws and tapping enter, does not open it, real stumped
here. Thinking a system restore maybe?

Hi there, first of all, you might have to set your JAWS to show up in the
system tray by right clicking on the start button, to do this, tab to the
start button, press the applications key, press ctrl tab to the task bar
page then, press tab until you hear Notification area Customize, when there,
tab to Application file for JAWS, it's a combo box, press the up arrow until
you hear show.

I hope this helps.

2 issues here. I cannot get the notification when selected to have jaws in
the tray to be where after selecting, then rebooting.

Also, when pressing jaws key and J nothing is happing.

What might be the problem here?

Running windows 7 64/bit and Jaws 13

Thanks,
