Hi All, I have learned that there is a known problem in Microsoft Office that somehow randomly inserts a language code in a Word, Excel or Outlook document. The text will look just find to someone sighted. JAWS will only read it in the alternative language some of the time depending on how you are navigating through the document.
Yes, you can change the JAWS auto language detection, but this will only address the problem for you, and not for anyone else who needs to read the document with a screen reader. There is a way to fix the problem in that document through the language settings under the review tab. I am in the process of writing up the directions, and will post them as soon as I am sure that are accurate and make sense. Hopefully by the weekend. The document contains a calendar template that is made up of a table. Some of the numbers in some of the cells, as well as some of the words in the cells are being spoken in a language other than English. Does anyone know why this is happening? What do I need to look for and change in the Word document.
