Hi

When JAWS starts acting like that, try pressing JAWSkey+escape to refresh
the screen to JAWS. The format for the run dialog To do a JAWS repair is
drive:\path\JAWS installation file name followed by a space, then a slash,
then type repair. To accomplish this, press Windows key+r or select Run
from the start menu to bring up the run dialog box. Tab to the browse
button and [press enter. navigate to the installation file for the version
of JAWS you want to repair and press enter. Now tab to the Open entry and
press the end key to move to the end of the line. Then press space, slash,
the word type, space, then the word repair. For example,

"C:\Local Software\JFW140\J14.0.3005-64bit.exe"/type repair

Also uninstalling JAWS will not make you lose your JAWS activation key. You
can uninstall JAWS and reinstall it and use the one activation key you have
installed on your system. The JAWS activation key will allow you to run the
latest JAWS version you have purchased and any earlier version back to JAWS
5 or 6 when the Internet License manager was implemented.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Jaws isn't focusing correctly and sometimes reads
phantom characters

This is the case with all 3 Jaws versions I have--12, 13 and 14. And now
that the repair process has been changed to something I still don't
understand how to do, I can't do a repair and would hate to uninstall and
lose my keys. Jaws loses focus a lot and I am moved out of my window, and I
also have the problem of, when trying to erase characters in a file, Jaws
reads extra phantom characters that aren't even part of the file. When
using Winamp it will say the previous track and then correct itself to say
the track I'm on. It's sort of like something in the video driver isn't
dumping information from its memory--like the song track that it's not even
on--or it's foggy and may possibly be on a bad screen resolution or color or
something. I am using Windows 7 with classic theme, and my resolution is
1024/768 which F.S. had recommended for XP. It is now not showing an entire
list and is only seeming to see the bottom item. Does anyone have a
suggestion for getting the video to interpret what's on the screen
correctly? I have run the free program from System Access to Go, just to
see if it could be a computer or screen problem. But it read right so I
know I need to do something in Jaws.

Thanks for any input.

Joanne
